In a recent feature by the Charlotte Business Journal, Growmetix® was recognized as one of the Charlotte-based organizations actively reshaping the entrepreneurial landscape for founders of color. But the real story isn’t just about being featured — it’s about the impact.
Growmetix® is part of a growing movement to dismantle systemic barriers that have long made it harder for Black entrepreneurs to access capital, mentorship, and growth opportunities. According to the Federal Reserve, Black-owned firms are half as likely as white-owned ones to be fully approved for loans, lines of credit, and cash advances. Growmetix is working to change that.
Through business capacity building, technical assistance and other training programs, Growmetix® helps growth-oriented businesses build the clarity and confidence needed to scale. The organization was one of three Charlotte-based recipients of NC IDEA’s $50,000 ECOSYSTEM grant — a competitive award that supports organizations serving under served entrepreneurs across North Carolina.
The Charlotte Business Journal article highlights how Growmetix®, alongside peers like NXT | CLT and The Boost Pad, is driving real change by equipping entrepreneurs with the tools to succeed in a system that wasn’t built with them in mind. These organizations represent half of the NC IDEA Black Entrepreneurship Council grant recipients in the most recent round — a testament to Charlotte’s leadership in inclusive innovation.
At Growmetix®, the mission is clear: economic mobility through entrepreneurship. Whether helping founders navigate supplier diversity programs or guiding moonlighting entrepreneurs toward full-time business ownership, the team is committed to building a more equitable future — one business at a time.
