Opportunity doesn’t begin when a contract opportunity is released. It begins long before, when businesses have the capacity to compete. That’s what makes the City of Charlotte’s Skilled to Build initiative so important.
Created in response to more than $25 billion in planned transportation and mobility investments tied to the 2025 voter-approved $0.01 sales tax, Skilled to Build is a small business technical assistance initiative designed to help local businesses and workers prepare for opportunities connected to infrastructure projects across the region.
The City of Charlotte Economic Development department has selected Growmetix® to design and develop a Small Business Readiness learning curriculum as a part of the initiative.
The six course curriculum will help businesses prepare for contracting opportunities by building knowledge in areas such as procurement readiness, financial preparedness, project management and other topics that support business sustainability and growth.
This work reflects what we’ve known for a long time: “having access” and being ready are not always the same thing. When business owners have the right strategy, structure and support, they are better positioned to navigate uncertainty and pursue growth with confidence.
Growmetix® is honored to partner with the City of Charlotte on an initiative that helps ensure local businesses improve economic mobility and get ready to participate in one of the region’s largest investments in transportation and infrastructure.
